Riding lessons are the backbone of our growing equine industry and Chagrin Valley Farms offers options for all levels and ages of riders. Whether you are new to the sport, or looking to improve your skills and level of riding, our program and seasoned instructors have something for everyone.

If you are getting started riding, our Beginner Introductory Package has up to five private lessons designed to teach the basics on the ground and in the saddle. Riders get  comfortable  leading a horse, and the basics of mounting, stopping, turning and moving forward before you move on to a group lesson.

If you are new to the lesson program you will take a one-time Evaluation lesson to determine riding level for placement purposes.

Riders who are already part of the CVF Lesson program can also ride outside their weekly lessons. Thirty minute Advanced Rider Practice Rides are now being offered as well as Open Riding Sessions that are supervised but don’t involve instruction. For details talk to your instructor.

For riders who are ready for more than weekly riding lessons, and a taste of having their own horse without the commitment, Chagrin Valley Farms has a limited number of horses available for leasing. In exchange for paying a portion of the monthly board, you have a horse to ride and care for several days a week.
